thegreatperhapsishere asked: hi! so im going to drexel this fall and i was wondering, is it possible to join a sorority even though im planning on commuting?
I remember about a year ago how difficult choosing a college was. So I’d like to congratulate you on your decision on coming to Drexel in the fall and especially on your decision to join a sorority.
To answer your question, it is very possible to join a sorority if you’re a commuter. Greek life isn’t limited to only those that are on campus. However it won’t be easy since a lot of events do take place on campus but it all depends on which sorority you decide you want to join. Expect to put in a lot of time and determination though, more than the girls who are on campus.
Each sorority differs from the sisters, to their philanthropy, to the values, goals, etc. I suggest you look up the different organizations on campus to try to get a feel for which sorority you feel best fits you. Not every sorority is right for each girl. Good luck though! If you have any more questions whether it be about Greek life or Drexel, don’t hesitate to ask!
Gave it up for nearly a year and a half.
Starting again…. back to square one.
On the recommendation of the Sisters and by virtue of the authority vested in them The National Governance of Sigma Psi Zeta hereby declares and honors Our Sister Sherry “KNOCKOUT” Tran upon the successful completion of trail membership, culminating in the grant of the Nu Charter, Omicron Class at Drexel University Fall 2011 and have presented this certificate as evidence, thereof, given by the City of New York, in the State of New York of the United States of America.
Although I’ve been a sister for almost 7 months now, it feels more official on paper.
"You know when sometimes you meet someone so beautiful and then you actually talk to them and five minutes later they’re as dull as a brick? Then there’s other people, when you meet them you think, “Not bad. They’re okay.” And then you get to know them and… and their face just sort of becomes them. Like their personality’s written all over it. And they just turn into something so beautiful."

"We’re all seeking that special person who is right for us. But if you’ve been through enough relationships, you begin to suspect there’s no right person, just different flavors of wrong. Why is this? Because you yourself are wrong in some way, and you seek out partners who are wrong in some complementary way. But it takes a lot of living to grow fully into your own wrongness. And it isn’t until you finally run up against your deepest demons, your unsolvable problems—the ones that make you truly who you are—that we’re ready to find a lifelong mate. Only then do you finally know what you’re looking for. You’re looking for the wrong person. But not just any wrong person: the right wrong person—someone you lovingly gaze upon and think, “This is the problem I want to have.”
I will find that special person who is wrong for me in just the right way.
Let our scars fall in love."
